Refunds, Returns, or Cancelations (Rules and Regulations)

 

Modern Reptile has a no refund policy on orders that have not been shipped. All sales are FINAL. Refunds are only given on animals that are Dead On Arrival (D.O.A). D.O.A claims must be compliant with our Terms Of Service (T.O.S) and Live Arrival Guarantee (L.A.G). Dry goods that arrive damaged will not be refunded but will be replaced. Dry goods claims must be made within 30 minutes of arrival. Items or animals on sale cannot be refunded. Refunds and L.A.G regulations will only apply to the animal/product and not the cost of shipping. Shipping cost cannot be refunded in ANY case. In ‘Special Circumstances’ that a refund is granted on orders that have not shipped, a 25% restocking fee is charged. If you need to cancel your order, you may receive store credit. Store credit is applicable for 6 months and can be used on any product and/or animal. 


For returns, shipping costs are at buyers expense. Shipping costs for replacement animals are also the responsibility of the buyer. Live animal returns are applicable for the same amount of time as our 7-Day Health Guarantee. We cannot offer a refund or exchange after 7 days of arrival. For dry good returns, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. To be eligible for a return, several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable "goods" such as food or animals cannot be returned (unless agreed upon). We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases. Other non-returnable items are gift cards and downloadable software products. 


To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer. We only replace items or animals if they are defective, diseased or damaged. If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be sent to you. If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he or she will find out about your return.


If returning an item or animal, please read the following for refunds if applicable. Contact us before returning to find a mutually agreed shipping day. Once your return is received and inspected, we will contact you to notify that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. The following info is for late or missing refunds, If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item. Any products shipped to Modern Reptile collect will be refused.
